Andrew Kling is a Technology Development manager in Duke Energy's Emerging Technology organization. He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and completed his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte. Since joining Duke Energy he has been involved in a wide range of projects including SCADA architecture design and implementation, substation automation, DMS optimization and multiple energy storage pilot projects. He has worked on multiple teams implementing IP communication upgrades at substations, integrating distributed generation microgrids, creating field message bus SCADA systems and developing distribution system optimization applications. In his current role Andrew focuses on developing energy storage pilot projects and integrating these projects into the utility grid. Andrew is a registered Professional Engineer in the state of North Carolina.
