Mr. Cutter leads E3’s practice enabling energy storage, electric vehicles and responsive load to serve as valuable resources for the electric grid. Mr. Cutter works with utilities, regulators and technology companies to match solutions to their most valuable applications for the customer, grid and environment. Mr. Cutter is currently working with utilities and environmental groups in the US and Europe to assess the benefits of electric vehicles and their impact on distribution system infrastructure costs. Mr. Cutter is also leading several projects quantifying the economic benefits of utility scale and behind-the-meter energy storage projects under high renewable penetration. Prior to joining E3, Mr. Cutter worked as an independent consultant in water resources for seven years and at PG&E for ten years. Mr. Cutter has an MBA and MS in Energy Resources from U.C. Berkeley and a B.A. in Economics and German from Tufts University.
