Ibrahim Jilani is responsible for the global business development for Energy Systems & e-Mobility at UL for over 2 years. He serves UL’s mission and the market needs of ES & eM companies with addressing global industry matters, certification, due diligence, and testing. He represents UL in a variety of industry trade groups (NAATBATT, ESA, India ESA) and product segments (Batteries, Chargers, Energy Storage, Generators).
In the recent year, Ibrahim launched UL’s Hoverboard & Personal e-Mobility services (UL 2272) as well as acted as a steward in UL’s standards, most notably the accreditation of UL 9540 for Energy Storage Systems & UL 2272 for Personal e-Mobility Devices as the United States & Canada bi-national standards.
Previously, Ibrahim led the North America consumer technology battery team at UL for 3 years, is a certified Lean Sigma Black Belt, and has been with UL for over 10 years. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering from University of Illinois in Chicago and a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is based out of UL’s Headquarters in Northbrook, IL USA.
