Jeff Gates is responsible for sales and project development of energy storage projects for Alevo Energy. He previously held a variety of positions at Duke Energy, including energy storage and transmission project development, strategy, corporate finance, and risk management. Mr. Gates developed the Notrees Battery Storage Project, a 36-megawatt storage system at the Notrees windfarm for Duke Energy, including commercial structuring, contract negotiating, and driving the regulatory and market changes needed to incorporate storage in the Texas market. In this role Mr. Gates managed a $44MM project budget to construct the project on time and on budget. In addition, Mr. Gates was responsible for project development for all energy storage projects across the Commercial Business unit and monitors and influences policy and market rules to enable energy storage to be deployed across multiple markets.
