Ms. Krista Stehn is the Director of Opportunity Development for the U.S. Army Office of Energy Initiatives (OEI). Ms. Stehn is responsible for identifying, analyzing and establishing opportunities for the Army to work in partnership with private industry to develop large-scale renewable and alternative energy projects. The project opportunities developed by Ms. Stehn and her team contribute to enhancing energy security at Army installations, reducing the Army’s energy footprint and providing long term energy cost savings for the Army. Prior to her current role, she served as Project Director for one of the OEI’s project execution teams.
Ms. Stehn began her federal career with Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC). Prior to joining the OEI, she served both as a Program Analyst and Program Manager with NAVFAC Headquarters Public Works in energy, utility and facilities management. Prior to her assignments in Washington D.C., she served as the Navy Region Hawaii Energy Manager for NAVFAC Hawaii, where she was recognized as both the NAVFAC Hawaii Professional Employee of the Year and NAVFAC Pacific’s Area of Responsibility Employee of the Year in 2010.
Ms. Stehn holds a Master of Public Administration from Troy University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Speech Communications and Political Science from the University of Washington. Ms. Stehn is a graduate of the NAVFAC Leadership Development Program. She is certified under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Program Management Level III, as well as Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified.
